my review of the Mac & Mia clothing box

This post is sponsored, but all thoughts written are mine and not influenced by the sponsor.

Hi guys! So, recently I checked out Mac & Mia: a cute little online boutique for children’s clothing. I browsed the website, thought the style of these clothes would be perfect for my daughter to try, so I signed up to receive a box.

The first thing you do is go online to macadamia.com and take their style quiz. Be as detailed as possible! My four-year-old daughter isn’t a fan of pants, so I made sure to include that. She doesn’t like anything tight on her stomach, so dresses normally work for her, unless they’ve got elastic around her middle. Our stylist reached out to me after I filled out the quiz and submitted my box, and said my detailed answers were helpful in styling our box.

Their stylists work with you one-on-one to create a box of clothes for your child that they will like. My daughter was so excited to see all the clothes chosen for her! Each box costs $20, and it’s up to you if you want to keep any items that are sent to you or send it all back. Take five days to try everything on, and decide which items you’ll keep and which you’ll return.

If you’re afraid that you will lose track of time (like I was!) don’t worry: my stylist reached out to me when my box was delivered, and again to remind me that it was time to “check out” and let them know which items I was purchasing.

So let’s jump in and look at the cute things they sent us!

The box itself was super cute! A polka dotted box with aqua tape – full of goodies! We received ten items total: a pair of shorts, three shirts, a bow and five dresses.

All the paperwork inside was personalized with instructions on the front for what to do with our box. Inside, there was a note from our stylist, Lisa, with some of her favorites that she included, along with a breakdown of each item and their prices – if we decided to purchase any (or all) of them.

The Hatley Pink Lemonade Strappy Dress:

(These pictures also include the Lali Big Sailer Bow with Alligator Clip)

I loved this little dress on my daughter! It fit her well and was very flattering on her. She was sad to take this one off! The bow accent on the back was adorable. I liked the length of this dress, and the fact that it was still a little bit flowy.

The Hatley Painted Pineapples Tee Dress:

My daughter liked this dress too! As you can see, it features a pocket – which my daughter loves at this age. The dress is light and fun, with bright colors and is such a soft material. The dress pictured is a 4T.

Angel Dear Strawberries Muslin Dress:

My daughter is adventurous and loves to run, so our dresses need be roomy enough for her to move around in. As you can see, this dress was perfect for play and easy to bike in! I liked the ruffled straps on it, and the strawberries  on the baby pink muslin are utterly adorable! It also pairs perfectly again with the Lali Big Sailor Bow that was also included in our box.

Joules Vivi Jersey Frill Sleeve Dress

This is definitely a dress we decided to keep! It’s super comfy, with fun popsicles all over it, and it’s a fun addition to her wardrobe for summer! We just missed being able to wear it for flag day, but it will be great to wear through July around Independence Day.

We took some family pictures shortly after our box arrived, too, so it was an easy choice. We had to keep this one!

The Chaser Painted Hearts Tank: (featuring the Chaser Ruddle Side Shorts)

My daughter did like this outfit, even though the shorts were a little bit big on her. They are a size 4T but they didn’t stay on her waist very well. She really liked the top, and it fit her really well. The hearts are playful and bright, and just make you want to smile!

Sadly, we didn’t photograph my daughter in the other tanks as well as the Unicorn & Ice Cream Dreamz Dress. She didn’t have much interest in trying the other shirts on since she loved the dresses so much (ha!).

The Joules Pixie Jersey T-Shirt was super cute: a light pink shirt that read “Beach Hair, Don’t Care.” I thought it would be a fun shirt for my daughter, since we do sport the crazy beach hair regularly, but she wasn’t having it.

The Frankie & Susie Primm Tank was a purple tank top with a front pocket, decorated with black polka dots and popsicle outlines (pictured above). Even though my daughter didn’t try these on, she was still excited that they were chosen for her.

Now that we have finished our review, we packaged everything up in the bag that was provided for us, and will drop it off at a UPS pick up location. The bag comes with a return label, so the return isn’t an additional cost to you!

If you decide to purchase at least two items from your box, you are credited your $20 styling fee. If you decide to purchase everything from your box, they automatically give you 15% off your order!

This boutique carefully selects its brand partners, like Hatley, whose mission is to create fun, well designed, nature-inspired clothing in an ecologically responsible way.
